00 / HOURPURPOSE:
Entry-level technician will ensure all employees/contactor workers adhere to the (GAP) Good Agriculture Practices.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
To ensure that the companys organic and food safety programs are compliant with all relevant auditing requirements including the National Organic Program and Food Safety Modernization Act, to review Good Agricultural Practice programs and assist in the training of personnel to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards.
Assist the Food Safety department in developing Food Safety, organic, regulatory initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations as well as compliance with specific customer requirements.
Verify and ensure that growers, harvesters and labor contractors maintain compliance with all applicable Food Safety, regulatory and Organic requirements.
Field Food Safety Compliance Technicians will provide support for third party and internal Food Safety audits and their preparations and follow up (GFS, NOP, LGMA, customer and regulatory).
Assist in the training of personnel to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
Identify areas of potential Food Safety concern and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Protect security and confidentiality of company information at all times.
Establish and maintain effective working relations with all applicable representatives of Grimmway Farms, growers, harvesters, suppliers, etc.
Perform other related tasks and job duties as directed by Director of Quality for Farming Operations PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to occasionally move about inside the office, food processing facilities and frequently move around farming fields.
Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment.
Ability to inspect equipment and product.
Ability to continuously work outdoors all day in various and sometimes extreme weather conditions.
Ability to work with farming chemicals.
Must be able to work in different temperatures (working temperatures as hot as 100 to 110 F and as cold as -20 F to 32 F).
Work in wet and damp environment.

Qualifications:
Agricultural experience a plus Field Food Safety Compliance Technician shall be self-directed and be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision; must be organized and detail oriented Must maintain strict confidentiality about all aspects of job Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required, along with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization Employee may be required to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays if needed Must work in the Coachella area for approximately four months out of the year during entire winter harvest season.
(Housing or housing allowance provided by the company) Vacation (PTO) is subject to approval by the manager.
Multiple unexcused absences will result in termination of assignment or relocation back to Lamont Able to travel extensively including some evenings and weekend travel.
Travel is approximately 95-100% of the time Remote work not available for this position Must be bi-lingual, English/Spanish, with the ability to speak, read and write in both Must have a valid drivers license with a clean DMV driving record Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen
